For class Thursday, come prepared to discuss a Cuban person or thing (see title) of some renown. There are ample choices. A short cut is too look at the schedule of readings to see some family names of prominent Cubans, such as the poet Guillen. You can also thumb through the Weeks chapter again for more political actors. For your very brief presentation (you have 3-4 minutes each) you will need to identify: 1) Name of person or thing (song/movie/etc.) 2) Describe him/her/it 3) It's importance in Cuban history Also, read the the articles by Lou Pérez and Kristin Larsson (see the links in the schedule) See you in class on Thursday. |
